Surgery Contact Telephone number

Lunchtime closing is

12.00 -1.00pm

The Practice is closed on Bank Holidays.

Any requests for Prescriptions, Sick notes, or Results please call after 11 am and 3 pm, when our phone lines are quieter and have the resource to deal with your quires

It’s important if you take prescribed medication regularly, and you don’t have enough to last until the Practice reopens that you take action now and come in to renew your prescription it takes 3 days to process a repeat prescription request.

If you need medical help while we are closed there are many services in place to treat people who urgently need healthcare, but it isn’t a serious or life threatening emergency.

If you are unsure of the service you need, or need immediate medical advice you should call NHS 111. They can give you advice and if you need to speak directly to a health care professional then they are available on the other end of the phone, whatever the time of day or night.

Walk in services are also available at Loughborough Urgent Care Centre.

If you do need to go to the emergency department, please think about if you can manage to get there using your own transport, or a taxi. Ambulances in the area will always prioritise the most serious cases first, so if your condition is not serious or life threatening and it’s safe to do so, we would recommend seeing if you can get family or friends to help you get to the emergency department. If you’re not sure, ring NHS 111 and they will advise you.

All patients registered with the Practice have an assigned named GP.

If you would like to know the name of your assigned GP please ask at the reception desk.

Friends and Family Test can be completed via the link under HAVE YOUR SAY to the right of your screen.

Are you registered with

Hockley Farm Medical Practice?

If you are registered as a patient of this practice, you can also get an appointment with a GP or prescribing nurse at one of our healthcare hubs, including during evenings, weekends and bank holidays:

Leicester City Healthcare Hubs

The healthcare hubs are an integral part of the service provided by Leicester City GP practices to improve access to appointments. If you need an appointment and we do not have anything available, we may book an appointment for you at one of four healthcare hubs instead, if an appointment is suitable for your particular medical problem.

There are four healthcare hubs in Leicester, offering convenient appointments during the day, in the evenings, at weekends and on bank holidays:

If you have used the healthcare hubs service before, you may have booked an appointment yourself. From 1st August 2019, appointments can only be booked by your GP practice during normal opening hours. In the evening and at weekends, you can call NHS 111 for advice, who will be able to book an out of hours appointment if appropriate.

Hockley Farm Medical practice

We aim to provide you with the best quality health care. We provide a wide range of services including general medical care, contraception, maternity services, and minor surgery. We are now also offering late evening surgeries.

We are delighted to have moved to the Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre and look forward to working with the other health and social care staff based here.

Urgent Care Clinics

We are pleased to announce we are starting a new clinic from 1st April 2014 for patients with urgent care needs.

The clinic will run both morning and afternoon and is staffed by highly experienced nurses who are trained to help people with minor illnesses.  Our nurses are able to diagnose, prescribe and refer on to a GP when necessary.

We hope that the introduction of these clinics will free up our doctors to treat and look after our patients with long term complex conditions and serious illnesses.

Surgery Access

The building is accessible to patients using wheelchairs. There are disabled parking spaces near the main entrance. The GP reception has a low desk area and there are disabled toilet facilities in the building.

Teaching practice

We are a teaching practice and will often have attached students or GPs in training. Some consultations may be video recorded for training purposes. You will always be informed of this and will have the opportunity to decline if you wish.
